Worse Things Than Bad Report Cards

Brian Leaning-Mizen's Strategies for Successful People Newsletter continues to be one of favourite - you can sign up at http://www.mindsynergy.net.

In todays issue Brian writes:

I first read this article in an email from a mate in Queensland about 12 months ago, then just last week I saw it in my local Community Newspaper in a column written by Graham Maybury a Perth radio personality.

I thought it worth sharing with you.

A father discovered a letter from his teenage daughter, Dear Dad, sorry to shock you, but i'm pregnant. I've run away to avoid an upsetting scene with you and Mum. Randy, the father, may have all his piercings, tattoos and motorbike clothes, but we are happy. There's an age difference, but 42 isn't so old these days is it? Randy wants me to have the baby. In fact he wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too.

in the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so he can get better; he sure deserves it!

He has no money and no job, but we can live in his caravan.
He has a great CD collection and enough firewood for the winter.
He's going to teach me the safe way to use marijuana and ecstasy.

Don't worry Dad,I'm 15 now and I know how to take care of myself. When you've had time to adjust we'll come and visit so you can both get to know your grandchildren.

Your loving daughter Rosie.

Then he saw the letters PTO with trembling hands he turned the sheet and read,

P.S. Dad, none of this is true. There is no Randy, I am not pregnant and I never do drugs. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my school report card. It's in my desk drawer.

Love you Rosie.

Kids can be rascals can't they?
