Mmmm is that true?

Here in Perth Western Australia, we have no current cases of covid-19 but The front page of the newspaper says "WA, 'ill-prepared for virus outbreak" and inside it talks about Auckland going into 7 day lockdown - New zealand is a long way from Perth - Sydney is a long way from Perth [4000 kilometres] and Sydney is a long way from AUCKLAND [2,200 kilometres] so the headline is about something happening 6000 kilometres away. How many papers are there in Perth? Just 1 which publishes as The West Australian Monday to Saturday and on Sunday it is the Sunday Times [7West Media]

Of course they say Old Media Won!

The Facebook saga is subsiding in Australia with "small" changes being made to the Bargaining Code and 7West already agreeing to a pittance in payment from Facebook... and it is easy to see who won this "war". I remind people that if you run on a platform for free you are bound by their rules. Up until now Old Media have been sucked in by Facebook reposting their stuff to keep people involved with "facebook" sort of reminds me of hotel giving away their cutomers to site like wotif.com and booking.com which are all under one of two banners now and it is too late for hotels to get their cutomers back.

My overall comment is that the worl is run by highly educated idiots... trurt the science they say which is the same science that once promoted a FLAT WORLD where the sun orbited the earth, where they locked up people for disagreeing.... nthen the earth and 8 planets orbited the sun but hang on didn't they [the scientists] just reduce Pluto to a super nova... and it is the earth and 7 planets orbiting the Sun... and now the Universe is expanding - new telescopes... new science. AAaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2019 what I did wrong!

 I didn't do 2019 well.

My retirement age had arrived... and people expected me to retire! But there is a move to reduce the influence of Ripert Murdoch on the press - in the US, the UK and here in Australia... and Rupert is 90!! maybe more....

So in 2019 I had excuses for slowing down... well there was The Donald creating problems in the Middle East [ he is now gone but nothing is changing that I was happy to use him as an excuse.]

There was issues with new house building that put the moccha on our commission deal for a buildiong group - it had been sold for $100 million and we were on a commision at completion [ we is myself and Matthew ]. Well there is now a boom in house building but  the big building group sold for $80 million and the comisison went else where..

My biggest mistake was, working from home when I chose to do that - it there for appears I am always working - that caused conflict where previously whilst doing the same thing before I was excused because I was AT work... subtle but powerful difference.

As 2019 becomes a distant memory, my excuses disappear BUT I have a year of regret to extinguish where it should have been a year of achievement.

How was your 2019?

News? Today's West Australian doesn't have any.

My daily early morning walk is designed around a stop halfway for a coffee, buy the paper, and stop and do this.

    1. Walk point is 5000 stps of 15000 a day
    2. paper cost $1.70 weekdays
    3. coffee is $1

"some nonsense for you, I used to stop at Maccas but saw an add [ yes they do work!] that 7/11 had         $1 coffee;- I used to pay Maccas $4.10 for coffee and "nick" the paper but I pay $2.70 for coffee and       paper and feel much better"

Today's Issue: With No Harvey Norman or JB Hifi ads - but they are stuffesd in my letter box today[?] - the paper is very skinny! so much so, I was told by the lady at 7/11 that Facebook had banned news... yet the week has planty of stories - the Australian Open, the Facebook story, the vacs rollout, the Canberra Sex Scandal, the Western Australian Election run off. plus lots ofother things... but not enough for a "think" paper if no ads.... and they wonder why us plebs have lost interest in the "news"

I get it [ the daily paper ] to keep in "her inside's good books" she does the crossword and puzzles.

Mmmm... isn't there something going on with Mexit and Oprah at the moment.

How can a bully get away with it!

Facebook continues to bully people - it has happened for a long time... " empower our employees to change Facebook regardless of features our users want - heck we just had a hack-a-thon and the winners got to change facebook"

Remember the press holding out this was great! Well maybe if they weren't bullies?

Maybe these 12 Rules for Life might help!

Maybe you have heard the quote: "There are 3 rules for writing a book. Unfortunately, nobody knows what they are"

There are hundreds of Rules for Life - here are 12 which might make some sense.

Rule One: You will receive a body. Whether you love it or hate it, it's yours for life, so accept it. What counts is what's inside.

Rule Two: You will be presented with lessons. Life is a constant learning experience, which every day provides opportunities for you to learn more. These lessons are specific to you, and learning them "is the key to discovering and fulfilling the meaning and relevance of your own life".

Rule Three: There are no mistakes, only lessons. Your development towards wisdom is a process of experimentation, trial and error, so it's inevitable things will not always go to plan or turn out how you'd want. Compassion is the remedy for harsh judgement - of ourselves and others. Forgiveness is not only divine - it's also 'the act of erasing an emotional debt'. Behaving ethically, with integrity, and with humour - especially the ability to laugh at yourself and your own mishaps - are central to the perspective that 'mistakes' are simply lessons we must learn. [ Hasn't 2020 taugt us that!]

Rule Four: The lesson is repeated until learned. Lessons are repeated until learned. What manifest as problems and challenges, irritations and frustrations are more lessons - they will repeat until you see them as such and learn from them. Your own awareness and your ability to change are requisites of executing this rule. Also fundamental is the acceptance that you are not a victim of fate or circumstance - 'causality' must be acknowledged; that is to say: things happen to you because of how you are and what you do. To blame anyone or anything else for your misfortunes is an escape and a denial; you yourself are responsible for you, and what happens to you. Patience is required - change doesn't happen overnight, so give change time to happen. [Note to self - this is important.]

Rule Five: Learning does not end. While you are alive there are always lessons to be learned. Surrender to the 'rhythm of life', don't struggle against it. Commit to the process of constant learning and change - be humble enough to always acknowledge your own weaknesses, and be flexible enough to adapt from what you may be accustomed to, because rigidity will deny you the freedom of new possibilities.

Rule Six:  "There" is no better than "here". The other side of the hill may be greener than your own, but being there is not the key to endless happiness. Be grateful for and enjoy what you have, and where you are on your journey. Appreciate the abundance of what's good in your life, rather than measure and amass things that do not actually lead to happiness. Living in the present helps you attain peace. [Mmmm it is so hard to learn this!]

Rule Seven: Others are only mirrors of you. You love or hate something about another person according to what you love or hate about yourself. Be tolerant; accept others as they are, and strive for clarity of self-awareness; strive to truly understand and have an objective perception of your own self, your thoughts and feelings. Negative experiences are opportunities to heal the wounds that you carry. Support others, and by doing so you support yourself. Where you are unable to support others it is a sign that you are not adequately attending to your own needs.

Rule Eight:  What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. Take responsibility for yourself. Learn to let go when you cannot change things. Don't get angry about things - bitter memories clutter your mind. Courage resides in all of us - use it when you need to do what's right for you. We all possess a strong natural power and adventurous spirit, which you should draw on to embrace what lies ahead.

Rule Nine:  Your answers lie inside of you. Trust your instincts and your innermost feelings, whether you hear them as a little voice or a flash of inspiration. Listen to feelings as well as sounds. Look, listen, and trust. Draw on your natural inspiration.

Rule Ten:  You will forget all this at birth. We are all born with all of these capabilities - our early experiences lead us into a physical world, away from our spiritual selves, so that we become doubtful, cynical and lacking belief and confidence. These ten Rules are not commandments; they are universal truths that apply to us all. When you lose your way, call upon them. Have faith in the strength of your spirit. Aspire to be wise - wisdom the ultimate path of your life, and it knows no limits other than those you impose on yourself.

Rule Eleven:  Don’t Stay Stuck in the Past. Whatever the past was, it’s gone. There is nothing you can do to change anything that has gone before, and so you must turn your attention to the here and now. It is hard to resist the allure of dwelling on what has gone before. But if you want to be successful in your life, you have to turn your attention to what is happening for you right now. You might be tempted to dwell on the past because it was awful or because it was won- derful. Either way, you have to leave it behind because the only way to live is in the present.

Rule 12:  Life is a Daring Adventure. You have to see life as a series of adventures. Each adventure is a chance to have fun, learn something, explore the world, expand your circle of experience and friends, and broaden your horizons. Saying NO to adventure means exactly that—you are saying NO to a life of fun, gratitude and excitement. Live now! Live today! This life is yours to do with as you want. It is your gift from the universe!

Next week we will release details of our mentoring system. so, when that happens, let us know what you think.

Yours for Business Success,

The Disruption Process

If you want to begin the year disrupting you, Jay Samit, auhor of Disrupt Yourself, says there is one thing you can do that will give you more deal flow than any VC in Silicon Valley. Every day you have to write down 3 problems you've experienced that day, and you have to do this for 30-days.

On the first day, this task might seem easy, but on day 15 or day 20 is when you are going to really have to work to identify your daily 3 problems and those problems are showing you gaps in need of innovation.
