Earlier today, within 30 minutes of each other, two friends who have offered great support to me over the last year or so rang and related situations that re-inforced my belief that good things take time, yet bad things happen in an instant.

In one case, shortness of breath had lead to a heart procedure which hopefully will be life saving... none the less a giant wake up call. And in the other, external influences threaten a life time of work. And my input will be an understanding ear as we share a merlot.
