Humans don't produce Vitamin C
Humans do not produce Vitamin C due to a mutation in the GULO (gluconolamine
oxidase) gene, which results in the inability to synthesize the protein. Normal GULO
is an enzyme that catalyses the reaction of D-glucuronolactone with oxygen to Lxylo-hex-3-gulonolactone. This then spontaneously forms Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C).
However without the GULO enzyme, no vitamin C is produced.
This has not been selected against in natural selection as we are able to consume
more than enough vitamin C from our diet. It is also suggested that organisms
without a functional GULO gene have a method of "recycling" the vitamin C that they
obtain from their diets using red blood cells
If the last two plus years have taught us anything, it is that if we don't cause our own
pain, someone else Will! Examples abound: Uber disrupting Taxis, Digital
Photography wiping out Kodak [if there is an own goal, this has to be it! Kodak
invented digital but thought it was too slow!], Netflix disrupting Blockbuster,
AirBnB disrupting Hotels. Zoom making virtual meetings possible. etc.. Covid:
Governments locking up everyone and killing CBD's everywhere.
Don't give up your rights to anyone else!
I have survived the last few years blaming "Chairman" Mark. However, since open
borders have been operating, I can't blame him anymore for what is happening. My
Realisation: Having someone to blame let me off the hook from doing anything. Has
this been the same for you?
Timing is everything!
I wanted to recommend a service to you [System.io] but when I went to the
webpage all I get is an error. I have been against meetings by Zoom etc because years ago the Austrlain Accountant's governing body tried remote meetings and they didn't
work - maybe they were too soon?
Would it work now? I pioneered Fax Marketing in
1990 when Fax Machines were popular - my thoughts are that it wouldn't work now!
For example, the only mail I got to my Post Office Letter Box were the Renewal
Notices from Australia Post to renew the PO Box... This reminded me of another
way I used to market which was by The Letter Box Drop - Can you predict the success
of that now?
Early adopters try everything!
Are you trying to see who is using TikTok or how since Microsoft has owned
LinkedIn it has changed. This means different stuff works in new places or old stuff
works when old things change.
