I have sort comfort in the position - if it doesn't affect me, it's OK BUT, I now need to say "But don't ask me to celebrate it"
A recent example is the Sydney Anglican Church taking a stand on "inclusiveness" They are saying... go and form your own church, as we don't want to change our beliefs on that.
I say... it's about time someone took a stand.
