Bruce's Aussie Dictionary

BOOMERANG As we all know, boomerangs are traditional Aboriginal weapons that - if thrown properly - come back to the thrower. Because of this trait, Aussies use the word to describe somethin' on loan.

BOTTLER This is a name you call somethin' that's really admirable.

BREKKIE Breakfast.

BUCKLEY'S I'm not sure who Buckley was, but he was obviously pretty unlucky. Buckley's is a situation where there is very little chance of success.

BUGGERLUGS What you call someone when you're jokin' around - like you're pretendin' to be annoyed.

BURL Another word for try.
