One way to win

According to Mary Quiglet in Readers Digest's "You Said It" you can get tips for horse races from the most unusal places:

"The night before this year's Melbourne Cup, I read "One Last Flutter", Lisa White's story about her grandmother and Makybe Diva. I was impressed and, like Lisa's nan, decided to back number 12 in the race, Pop Rock. I then noticed Delta Blues and thought, Rock and blues - a good match.

I don't normally bet on horses, but I backed these two and settled down to watch the race. I couldn't believe my luck when Delta Blues just pipped Pop Rock by a nose.

Happy to pick up my winnings,

I looked up to the sky and thanked that wonderful grandmother for her
inspiration."
